Hyperuricemia may lead to end stage of kidney failure

Hyperuricemia may lead to urate nephropathy, in early stage of which there are mid-to-moderate proteinuria and reduced kidney urine concentration function. High blood pressure and nitremia would appear later, and at last it would develop to end stag of kidney failure. Hyperuricemia usually happens among middle-aged males and menopausal females, with males more likely to suffer this disease, and there are symptoms such as gouty arthritis, tuberculum arthriticum, uric acid urinary stones, and so on.
Then how to prevent hyperuricemia from developing to end stage of kidney failure?
Pay attention to daily diet.
Take in more water or food rich in water, and keep daily volume of urination above 2000 ml to eliminate uric acid. Strictly control intake of alcohol beverages because they would make kidney eliminate less uric acid. Take in more alkaline foods which could help to dissolve and discharge urate. Have low-purine diet and eat less animal organs, seafood and wine. Obese people should take in less calories. Limit intake of protein and avoid spicy and stimulating foods, such as chili, peppers, garlic, mustard, etc.
Avoid inducing factors.
Avoid inducing factors such as excessive drinking, cold stimulation, strenuous exercise and localized lesions. Use hydration, basification and drugs in case of radiotherapy and chemotherapy to prevent acute uric acid nephropathy and acute end stage of kidney failure. Use drugs with caution which inhibit excretion of uric acid, and compound anti-hypertensive drugs may have this kind of side effect. So when using them, patients should strictly monitor changes of kidney function and serum uric acid.
